He is a seasoned human rights activist and a published writer with more than two decades of experience in grassroots activism, youth leadership, and international advocacy for the Baloch people. He holds a postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management from Middlesex University in London and has been at the forefront of Baloch activism since his student days.
General Secretary

During his time at the Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences (BUITEMS), Qambar emerged as a passionate advocate for educational rights and fair student representation. In 2007, he advocated for a chapter of the Baloch Students Organisation – Azad (BSO-Azad) at BUITEMS, serving as its organiser. The following year, he, along with other students, founded the Baloch Students Action Committee (BSAC) and became its first chairperson. Under his leadership, BSAC launched major campaigns demanding reforms to discriminatory admission policies and greater inclusion for Baloch students. His activism reached a critical point with an 11-day hunger strike with his peers, which successfully pressured authorities to amend their policies. Over the years, BSAC has grown into one of Balochistan’s most influential student organisations.
In 2008, Qambar was elected to the Central Committee of BSO-Azad. His rising influence in the student movement made him a target of the Pakistani state, leading to his enforced disappearance in 2009, a harrowing experience that only strengthened his resolve. Following his release, he relocated to the United Kingdom, where he continued his activism in exile.
In the UK, Qambar engaged with the Baloch youth and students, providing them with a vital platform for empowering the Baloch youth through mentorship, academic support, and political engagement. He has organised high-impact conferences featuring notable Baloch thinkers and activists, fostering dialogue and solidarity among Baloch activists.
Qambar has also held key roles within the Baloch Human Rights Council (BHRC), including as Information Secretary and General Secretary, where he has worked extensively to document and expose cases of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings. As a survivor of enforced disappearance himself, he has briefed the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances (WGEID) and submitted numerous cases, many of which have led to the release of victims. His advocacy has reached international platforms such as the United Nations and the UK Houses of Parliament, where he has served as both moderator and keynote speaker.
